In 1966, five men recognized the need for Christian education in Colorado Springs and began meeting weekly for prayer concerning their vision for a Christ-centered school. After five years of diligent prayer, in 1971, God opened the necessary doors for CSCS to be established. This firm dedication to a biblically focused education program grounded in prayer continues today.
Building on its 37 year legacy, CSCS offers students a well-rounded education - from a comprehensive academic program to a full complement of co-curricular opportunities. All courses are taught from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective by a committed and caring faculty.
CSCS exists to provide a high quality academic preparation through the lens of God's Word. Our mission is to provide excellent education from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective for lifelong service. CSCS is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the North-Central Association (NCA). Faculty members at CSCS are selected with great care. Each is academically qualified to teach in his/her assigned teaching area and possesses, or is working toward, an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teacher certificate. Spiritually, all faculty members are born-again Christians and are committed to education in a Christian school and specifically CSCS.
The purpose of athletics at CSCS is to provide an opportunity for students to
1) glorify God,
2) develop their God-given abilities through disciplined training, and
3) be faithful witnesses as ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
This opportunity is provided in a competitive setting where a variety of situations, both expected and unexpected, may occur. It is our goal to train the athletes to perform to the best of their ability while displaying a Christ-like character (Col. 1:28-29). We believe that these qualities are compatible, and it is our desire to honor the Lord by excelling in both. As we honor God, He will bless our athletic program (I Sam. 2:30).
The Fine Arts Department at Colorado Springs Christian Schools is an exciting integral part of a students' education and development. God is the supreme artist of all creation. He created a world abundant in rich and varied colors, filled with shapes, objects, music, and movement. In art, drama, and music the great beauty of this creation is explored in rich textures, movement, and sound. God has blessed individuals with gifts of expression that are to reflect His beauty in all that they create and perform. The development of this expression is a key component to a student's life education and future involvement in their churches, communities, and relationship with God.
Being a member of the CSCS family is becoming part of a great family of believers here in Colorado Springs and surrounding area. Here at CSCS, families have the opportunity to get to know Christians from about 200 different churches in the Colorado Springs, Monument, and Woodland Park Communities. There are many great churches in town, and we have the privilege to have many of their young people and their wonderful families in our schools.
